1. Gross

    I just had a biopsy today. Two, actually. I went in for my derm to look at this gross melanoma looking growth on my arm and she ended up getting a biopsy of it and another mole that I had thought was perfectly normal. They’re both on my right arm, near the inner elbow.

    It’s surprisingly not very painful to have chunks of your skin scrapped out. It looks so much worse than it feels. Two large, blackish craters in my skin. I have to apply a moisturizer to the crater (I’m calling it a crater, I don’t know the official medical term) and it is so surreal, I wasn’t expecting them to cut out that much. It is absolutely disgusting to look at.

    Hopefully they aren’t anything bad, but my derm said it wasn’t looking good. I feel like I should be worried. I have anxiety over everything, but somehow melanoma and skin cancer (which runs in my family double time) doesn’t do anything to me.

    I’m actually more excited about this because it means I have a presentation I can give in my biology class. My priorities are all messed up. I’m just going to go with it. Heh.
